ESOGU - Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department


To train students to be engineers who handle the matters in a scientific way with multiple dimension, who considers the naitonal interests first, who deem human relations very important; to have the sharing and cooperation prevalent in all matters; to have the students and faculty members develop their personalities in multi directions, providing means to achieve scientific research and quality education; having faculty members who love teaching and who have student enjoy learning; to teach students the basic concepts, theoretical and practical knowledge; to give them knowledge and to teach how to access knowledge; to emphasise the importance of life-long learning.


To be a leading educational and research establishment to provide internationally compatible high quality education and to train students to have them Electrical-Electronics Engineers who are well informed, inquisitive, and research oriented.

Program Educational Goals

To train students to be Electrical-Electronics Engineers  who
1) can create value in the engineering capabilities of the establishment they work for,
2) can maintain the R&D, technology and innovation abilities, 
3) can leave an impression on co-workers and supervisors that he is a graduate of ESOGU-EEE Department,
4) have the ability for entrepreneurship,
5) can contribute to the university–industry cooperation,
6) have environmental consciousness and social responsibility.

Program Outcomes

1) Adequate knowledge on mathematics, Science and Electrical-Electronics Engineering; ability to apply this knowledge on modeling and solving the Electrical-Electronics Engineering problems.
2) An ability to identify, describe, formulate and solve problems in Electrical-Electronics Engineering and related fields; an ability to choose and apply proper analysis and modeling methods.
3) An ability to design a complex system, component, or process  with modern design methods [to meet desired needs] in Electrical-Electronics Engineering within realistic constraints.
4) An ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools in Electrical-Electronics Engineering applications; an ability to use information technologies effectively.
5) An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to collect, analyze and interpret data for Electrical-Electronics Engineering problems.
6) An ability to function on Electrical-Electronics Engineering teams and  multidisciplinary teams effectively; an ability for individual work.
7) An ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
8) A recognition of the need for life-long learning; an ability to access information, to follow the developments in science and technology, and to self-renewal continually.
9) An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.

Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü 1980 yılında, Eskişehir Devlet Mühendislik Mimarlık Akademisi bünyesinde kurulmuştur. 1982 yılında Anadolu Üniversitesi'nin kurulmasıyla, Elektrik-Elektronik Bölümü, Mühendislik-Mimarlık Fakültesi çatısı altında öğretimine devam etmiştir. 1993 yılında, Anadolu Üniversitesi'nin bazı fakülteleriyle birlikte Osmangazi Üniversitesi'nin oluşturulmasıyla, Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü Osmangazi Üniversitesi bünyesine geçmiştir.

Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümünde, 1993-1994 öğretim yılından itibaren 100% İngilizce eğitim sürdürülmektedir.


Eskisehir Osmangazi University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was founded in 1980 as a part of Eskisehir Academy of Engineering and Architecture. In 1982, following the establishment of Anadolu University, the department was joined College of Engineering and Architecture of Anadolu University. Due to the extensive growth of Anadolu University, several colleges and departments including the Electrical and Electronics  Engineering Department were separated from Anadolu University to form Osmangazi University in 1993.

The instruction in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department has been in English since the beginning of 1993-1994 academic year.


The Department currently has sixteen full-time faculty members. Also, faculty members from other departments, colleges and universities teach classes in the department in the fields of their expertice. The instruction in the department is in English.  Entering students take a year-long full-time intensive English course  if they are not fluent in English before they start taking classes for the  B.S. in Electrical-Electronics Engineering degree program. International students can submit TOEFL or other scores.

The senior year courses are mostly technical electives.  These courses may be grouped into five fields:  Computer, Electronics, Communications, Control Systems, and Power Systems. Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department has Master's of Science and Doctoral (Ph.D) graduate programs, too.

The EE department  has contributed hundreds of engineers to the industry. These engineers are employed by private industries as well as government companies within the country as well as worldwide. The department undergraduate curriculum had been prepared to meet ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) criteria since the the year the medium of instruction was changed to English.  The department owns MUDEK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs) accreditation since 2012.
